The singer has replaced Christina Aguilera who announced her pregnancy and resigned from the show
According to the Us Weekly reports, Gwen Stefani is all set to join the The Voice as a judge. The contract has been official and the singer has signed up for the seat on the NBC show which is now going to air its seventh season. Christina Aguilera resigned from this coaches’ panel in February when she announced that she is pregnant and this spot is now being taken up by Gwen Stefani.
The show producers had started searching for a replacement because it was entirely impossible for Christina to continue. By the time Season 8’s battle rounds would have begun, she would have been 8 or 9 months pregnant. It was only because she wasnt fit to be around on the set and couldnt manage because of her health otherwise NBC wanted her around for the show.
The season is going to start its first shoot from June and this change on the coaches’ panel is not the only major difference which this season will witness. Pharrell Williams is also going to replace Cee Lo Green as a coach alongside Adam Levine and Blake Shelton. Previously, Pharrell has served as a guest mentor on the show in 2013 and the good bit is that Gwen Stefani already had some experience of working with him since the two had to collaborate for Stefani’s 2004 solo hit “Hollaback Girl.”
