All specs are quite impressive for a Windows tablet but the memory is where things get a bit disappointing

Windows tablets are getting reasonably cheaper and have now reached the $100 / €100 mark. The Emdoor EM-i8080 surprisingly have a good list of specs on board with an 8″ IPS screen with a resolution of 1,280 x 800. It is powered by a quad-core Atom processor (Bay Trail) and is equipped with stereo speakers.

All this is quite impressive for a Windows tablet but the memory is where things get a bit disappointing; the RAM only runs at 1 GB and there is merely 16 GB of storage which is not enough considering the storage demands of today. The built in storage is mostly consumed by the OS itself but the support for micro SD is a relief since the memory can be expanded. But most of us would not even dare to take that micro SD path because a 128GB microSD actually costs more than the tablet itself. But on the plus side a Windows 8.1 license alone can run you 100 bucks, so we can’t say this device isn’t spectacular value for money.

The RAM remains a big drawback because nothing can be done to improve this feature and though we trust Windows 8’s optimizations, we are still sure that at this level, multitasking is going to be a big problem.
