Ellen DeGeneres‘ friendship with Sofía Vergara is reportedly making her wife jealous.

The chat show host loves having the Colombian beauty as a guest on TV. But it has been reported that their friendship has developed off-screen, much to the chagrin of Ellen‘s wife, Portia de Rossi.

“Portia always resented Ellen’s friendship with Sofía, and that Sofía is leaning on Ellen for support, she’s even more jealous,” an insider claims to the American edition of OK! Magazine.

Modern Family star Sofía has reportedly turned to the 56-year-old following her breakup from fiancé Nick Loeb, after speculation arose over his fidelity. As well as appearing regularly on Ellen’s show, the 41-year-old bonded with Ellen while co-starring in ads for CoverGirl and the pair have stayed in touch.

“They have amazing chemistry on TV,” the source continued. “[But] Portia has always thought Ellen was a little too touchy-feely with Sofía, they’ve fought about it before, but Ellen convinced Portia she was blowing the situation out of proportion and that the women were just good friends.”

But the rumor seems strange, especially since Vergara is straight and just got out of a relationship with a man. That aside, divorce rumors between DeGeneres and her lady love have been burning for months. In February the comedian denied the claims to People and said, in fact, she can’t help but fall more in love with her wife.

“The truth is, and this is corny, I fall more in love with Portia all the time. I really do. She surprises me all the time,” the 2014 Oscar host told the news site. “It’s what anyone experiences when you find that person that gets you, wants to take care of you, wants the best for you. We’re really lucky because we know how rare it is.”

Then she added: “I love her so much it kills me.”
