Joan Rivers mouths off about Obama and Michelle

Joan Rivers recently mouthed off about President Obama and the first lady Michelle. She said they were gay and transgender respectively.

Joan Rivers is the grand dame of insults and put-downs. She is a talk show host who is not known for putting any filters between her self and the public. 

Recently she was at a gay wedding and was asked by a reporter that what if there was a gay or female president of the White House in future times. 

She responded in characteristic Joan Rivers-style that there already was. She had the guts to say that Obama was gay and that Michelle, the first lady, was transgender. 

“We already have it with Obama, so let’s just calm down,” she said. “You know Michelle (Obama) is a trans.” See the video clip of her statement below.

When she was further probed to explain this position she said that it was fairly obvious. Some of the most beautiful and gorgeous females on earth were transgender. 

Thus it was not meant as an insult but as a gesture of good will. Joan spoke about how she never was in the favor of being politically correct. Being PC was nothing but a bloody complication. 

Later on, Joan’s rep released the following statement to CNN about her remarks to the photographer:

“I think it’s a compliment. She’s so attractive, tall, with a beautiful body, great face, does great makeup. Take a look and go back to La Cage Au Follies (sic). The most gorgeous women are transgender. Stop it already … and if you want to talk about ‘politically correct,’ I think this is a ‘politically incorrect’ attack on me because I’m old, Jewish, a woman and a ‘hetty’ — a heteosexual … and I plan to sue the reporter who, when he turned off his camera, tried to touch me inappropriately on the a** – luckily he hit my ankle. Read the book … if you think that’s silly, wait to (sic) you see what I say about FDR and Eleanor!”

Joan Rivers sure knows how to get on the wrong side of controversy. Last time she was stuck in a conundrum was when she remarked about Heidi Klum’s dress that it was the hottest thing worn by a German since the Germans pushed Jews into gas ovens. 

The Anti-Defamation League criticized her for using such a vulgar joke about a tragic event. But Joan was adamant. She said that it was her style and besides she was just using humor to make a point about the Holocaust. 

The latest insult-cum-joke about Barack and Michelle Obama comes at a time when her autobiography “Diary of a Mad Diva” hits the bookstore shelves.

“Diary of a Mad Diva” was released on July 1. Rivers’ rep told CNN, “These are all funny jokes. The book is hysterical. The prologue says if anyone takes anything in the book seriously (he or she) is an idiot. And (Rivers) says if anyone has a problem with that, they can feel free to call her lawyer Clarence Darrow.”

Joan has already warned everyone that whatever she has written in her memoirs is nothing but good old jocular fun. So she expects everyone to take it that way. 

And if anyone was the least bit offended he or she ought to contact her lawyer which according to Joan was Clarence Darrow! Well, so much for any chances of a sober discussion with Joan Rivers, the mistress of crude humor.
