Iggy Azalea is an Asset for the Regular Music Circuit

The Aussie, Iggy Azalea has become an asset for the regular music circuit. She will furthermore be a headliner for the SLS party which is to take place in Las Vegas, Nevada.

She’s currently the hottest item in the musical show business. Iggy Azalea is to headline the SLS party slated to take place in Las Vegas. Over 3000 people will be attending the event. 

As for the female rap artist, she will be having a secret buddy joining her on stage. Iggy is also fully booked to sing a song with Rita Ora at the MTV Music Awards this Sunday night in Inglewood, CA.

This announcement of Iggy as the female of the moment came from various organizations and groups that were funding the SLS party event.  

According to Us Weekly, “The announcement comes from sbe, the hospitality group behind celebrity hot spots such as Hyde, The Emerson Theatre and The Sayers Club, and Pepsi as the two companies partner to debut the SLS Las Vegas, the first hotel and casino to debut on the Las Vegas Strip in almost four years.”

Meanwhile, Iggy is on cloud nine. She is to host the program titled MTV House of Style and will also get to make a cameo appearance on the soon-to-arrive movie Fast & Furious 7. 

Her songs are #1 hits and her latest venture in music is Black Widow which she made a video clip of with her friend Rita Ora. 

On the other hand, another one of her collaborators…Ariana Grande has shared a total of five chartbusting hits with her this season. Between the two of them they have torn up the airwaves with their musical numbers. 

Break Free is one of their special products. Fancy, Problem and Bang Bang also figure in the equation somewhere.

“The Grande/Azalea takeover begins at four with the former’s “Break Free,” which climbs into the top five from 18, while Azalea’s former number one, “Fancy,” slides to five. The girls of summer also land hits at seven (“Problem”), eight (“Black Widow”) and 10 (“Bang Bang”),” according to MSN Music.

“Only 12 acts, including Grande and Azalea, have claimed at least three top 10 spots on the Hot 100 in the same week, but this week marks the first time in the Hot 100’s 56-year history that two acts have tripled up in the top 10 simultaneously.”

Iggy has even been compared with Miley Cyrus. While Miley is the classic white spoilt child of this “anything goes” generation, Iggy has been a white girl who took over the classic homegrown phenomenon of rap which was a stronghold of black culture. 

She is in females what Eminem is in males. And currently, she is almost as famous as the Beatles were in their own time. The only problem is that despite Iggy’s intense efforts to be classified as a female white rapper, she is being slotted in the pop genre as all female white singers have been including Miley Cyrus. 

This is unfortunate since she possesses a rare ability to poeticize in strong language that evokes powerful emotions. Since rap stars are mostly aggressive males with a Black American identity, a white woman entering their territory would upset the status quo for the forces that don’t want to rock the boat.     

According to HuffPost, “We must acknowledge that white women who engage with hip hop enter into a complex web of identity and genre. They can’t quite dominate hip hop, but they instead occupy a liminal space between hip hop and pop, allowing them to incorporate elements of hip hop culture while maintaining the commercial appeal of pop — a privilege unique to white women artists.”
