After being assaulted by her former boyfriend War Machine, while sleeping with another guy, Christy Mack is still struggling to get her real self back.
Christy Mack is known as a porn star, but her presence in the news these days is credited to an assault by her former boyfriend. She was sleeping with another guy at home when MMA fighter Jonathan Koppenhaver aka “War Machine” beat her up to the extent that she had to be admitted to the hospital.
She called 911 in the situation she was in but the police went off to some other location due to the unfinished call. Afterwards, a neighbor called 911 again and the police took 17 minutes to reach her place, accoding to News.com.
Christy Mack, 23, survived the attack but is still visiting doctors in order to get her real self back. On the other hand, War Machine, 32, was apprehended from Simi Valley Hotel in California on 15th of August and was brought back to Las Vegas.
He was charged with attempted murder, sexual assault and kidnapping and was held without bail until the hearing on October 17th, where he pled not guilty.
In a recent post she shared on her Instagram, Christy Mack showed pictures of herself during the recovery. She also gave her side of the story and spoke regarding the treatment she is being given after severe injuries to her face, ribs and liver.
“2 days, 2 weeks, 4 weeks, and last night. I’ve had several dentist visits to make eating more comfortable and make my smile look more normal. I still have a few more dental visits to go,” she wrote in start of the long caption statement.
She had missing teeth, a broken nose, fractured ribs and a ruptured liver. Christy said in the post that she was regularly visiting her dentist and was admitted again to the hospital for minor treatments.
She says that she finds it difficult to look in the mirror and find someone who she is not. She tells her fans that she had damaged eye muscles that hindered her vision, multiple nose fractures which create breathing issues.
But with her swellings going down she hopes her top lip will regain its ability to move in 6 months. She worries about herself as she has lost 15 lbs of weight.
“While my face is starting to look decent again from the swelling going down, it is still not my own. Cutting what was left of my hair off, and losing 15 lbs(it’s a lot when you’re 5’1″) made me feel even further away from myself,” Christy wrote. “
It’s hard to look in the mirror every day and see someone you do not know. After having makeup done and dressing up for yesterday’s charity event, I felt much better about how I look now. It made me feel more normal, and beautiful for the first time in a very long time.”
She did not require a liver surgery and the rest of her surgery is being funded by doctors, other than those from the charity named “Face Forward”. Face Forward is a charity that funds reconstructive surgeries of women and children.
Christy made a public appearance in a Face Forward charity event in LA. “The event that I went to was for Face Forward. A non profit charity that funds surgeries for women and children that have been in horrible situations that require them to have reconstructive surgery,” she wrote in the end.
“They are not funding me, my surgeries are being donated by other doctors. I met many wonderful people and look forward to working more with them in the future.”
Christy has survived the deadly assault and her fans hope she undergoes an easy recovery. They want her to get well soon.
