Apple has reacted to BendGate and revealed that only 9 iPhone 6 customer have complained so far about bending.
Apple has gone on the offensive now about BendGate. Over the weekend reports about iPhone 6 Plus phones bending accidentally in pockets triggered a social media frency around #bendgate fueled by a Bend Test video from Unbox Therapy that went viral in a big way. The video (watch below) has now over 30 million views.
Now Apple has revealed to CNBC that only 9 iPhone 6 customers have complained so far about a bending issue. Apple also stressed the fact that they are performing rigorous testing throughout the development of the new iPhone. In Apple’s words: “Rigorous tests throughout the entire development cycle including 3-point bending; pressure-point cycling; sit, torsion, and user studies. iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus meet or exceed all of our high quality standards to endure everyday, real-life use.”
Apple does sit tests and that 100s of Apple employees “lived” with the iPhone 6 before Apple launched the device. Apple even went so far to grant CNBC access to their testing facility. Watch the video below.
As only 9 customers complained it is clear that there is no Bend Gate.
