Black Friday laptop deals are besides TV and video game deals the most thought after during the Black Friday Sales season. HP just unveiled new Windows 8 laptop that start under $200. The new HP Stream will rule Black Friday.
One of the Black Friday deals that get the most attention are the so called Black Friday laptops. They are priced under $200 and have been traditionally full featured Windows laptops. Last year Best Buy offered a $177.99 Dell 15.6-inch Windows 8 Laptop with 4GB RAM and 320GB HDD and the Walmart Black Friday bargain laptop was a $178 HP Laptop with similar specs. These “traditional laptops” are though losing their appeal. Who still needs a CD drive for instance? Who has the patience to wait for an application to load from Hard-drive? Smartphones and tablets have changed our expectations on how software should respond.
You get the responsiveness from higher end laptops like or from streamlined SSD based laptops like the Chromebooks. Chromebooks have been very popular during the Back To School season and enjoyed tremendous growth. Now finally Microsoft is able to offer laptops as the same $200 price point. HP just unveiled the $199.99 HP Stream 11.6″ and the $229.99 HP Stream 13″ laptops.
Both laptops have a fanless design with 32GB SSD storage and are powered by Intel Celeron processors. Also, buyers will receive a 1-year free subscription of Microsoft Office 365 Personal with 1TB of OneDrive storage.
The Chromebook killers will go on sale at the beginning of November. I expect retailers to lead with these new low-cost Windows 8 laptops in their Black Friday ads for 2014. If HP has no supply issues i see retailers offering the HP Stream 11.6 for as low as $149 as Black Friday doorbuster deal. The 13-inch HP Stream should be available for under $200 somewhen during the Black Friday sales season.
The earlier announced HP Stream 14 with a $300 price-point should be available during Black Friday for $249.99.
