The stunning Acura NSX is still about one year away from going on sale, but more and more details emerge.
The Acura NSX is a beauty with a powerful hybrid heart. The 2016 Acura NSX is set to go on sale in the United States in 2015 after making its debut at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show. UK’s What Car? had the opportunity to talk to the Acura NSX head of development Ted Klaus.
Mr. Klaus revealed that the Acura NSX has the acceleration of the Ferrari, but the hybrid Acura is more affordable and priced to match Audi’s R8. The R8 has an MRSP of $116,000. The R8 is also the sales goal for the NSX and not the much more popular Porsche 911. Where the Acura NSX will beat the Porsche 911 is though in efficiency and cleanness.
There are no technical details yet on the performance of the Acura NSX. If it accelerates like a Ferrari 458 than the specs should be impressive. The Ferrari 458 accelerates in 0-100km/h (0-62mph) in 3.3s.
Acura stunned the world with the unveiling of the Acura NSX concept car back in 2012. Honda hired Jerry Seinfeld to star in the extremely successfulAcura NSX Super Bowl 2012 Ad. Watch it again below.
