Wendy Davis has employed an empty wheelchair ad in order to lampoon Abbot who she is running against.
Greg Abbot is Wendy Davis’ opponent in the Texas Governorship elections. And he suffers from paralysis. Wendy chose to flay him by depicting an empty wheelchair in an ad that ran for awhile on television.
According to the voiceover, “A tree fell on Greg Abbot. He sued and got millions. And ever since that day in time, he has worked against other victims.”
The Democrat Wendy Davis is miles behind Abbot who has a 54% lead over her 40% statistical average. There is little if any chance of Davis bridging that chasm.
And election time will arrive by November 4th. So the race will go to the quick and fleet of foot. The narrative against Abbot runs somewhat like this: He does not believe people with prosthetics are handicapped.
And he is not on the side of rape victims who want full security against possible rapists. Finally, he did not allow the medical establishment to revoke the license or litigate against a surgeon who left many patients paralyzed.
Abbot has himself used the wheelchair as a paradoxical symbol of strength for his role as governor of Texas. He exercises his arms even if he is paralyzed from the waist down. And he admits that sometimes a man can travel faster than many cars in a wheelchair provided the way is clear.
But Abbot’s representatives criticized Davis for the cheap ad. They said that it would be her loss since it pointed to a weakness of her rival over which he has no control.
Indeed, a tree did fall on Abbot some three decades ago but obviously that was through no fault of his own. The rep said that no one had any idea that the Democrat Davis would stoop to such a low level.
It was a particularly foul move and one which had offended many Texans. She would suffer the consequences of this blatant act of hers by losing her vote bank.
