Early this week the San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick was fined $10,000 because he violated the NFL ban. According to the ban, no player is allowed to wear Beats headphones in the locker room, on the field or while talking to the press after the game.
Colin Kaepernick confirmed on Thursday that he was being fined $10,000 for violating the NFL ban on wearing Beats headphones. The San Francisco quarterback was wearing Beats headphones while he was talking to the press after the game this week.
According to ESPN, Kaepernick refused to comment on who will be paying the fine. He said, “I’m going to let that be unanswered.” But we are sure that the publicity is doubtlessly worth more than that to the company. This projects the precise attitude Beats has carefully cultivated.

Image-wise both Bose and Beats are almost the same and Bose is the official headphone of the NFL. Bose is considered to be an expensive and sensible audio brand basically for rich suburban dads, on the contrary Beats by Dr. Dre is used by the youth. Beats accounts for sixty one percent of the market and Bose owns twenty two percent, according to the research firm NPD Group.
Apple recently paid $3 billion for Beats, undermining the company’s image as an edgy upstart. Because of Bose’s alignment with NFL, Beats got the chance to position itself as anti-establishment. The narrative gets stronger when a quarterback star prefers paying a fine of $10,000 rather than taking his headphones off for a few minutes. Beats spent Sunday and Monday posting all types of pictures of NFL players wearing their headphones.

According to resources the NFL has said that it was the league’s decision to ban Beats headphones, Bose electronics had nothing to do with the ban. When a representative of Apple was asked to comment, he declined. According to Businessweek, “Bose and Beats didn’t return calls seeking comments.”
