Gareth Bale, the Real Madrid winger, was booted and battered throughout the game.
Gareth Bale was fouled more than any other player in the Group B Euro qualifying match. Chris Coleman and the Welsh fans were worried about the winger and it looked like someone was going to injure him during the match.
Wales were a man down and Cyprus struggled to equalize the entire second half of the game. Andy King planted his studs into the Cyprus captain as he was trying to reach for the ball and was sent off for the challenge.
The Welsh weren’t able to fight his case as it looked like a clear red card offense. The referee Manuel Grafe was right to send him off. After that there were many challenges on Gareth Bale and the Welsh winger was also booked because he was protesting.
David Cotterill and Robson Kanu scored for Wales. They should had tried to increase their lead but it looked like it wasn’t to be as Cyprus continued their assault on Bale. Bale had an assist to one of the goals and he was trying to get one for himself.

But it wasn’t to be as the Cyprus defenders made life hard for the winger. After the match Bale gave an interview and he said that it is normal to be taken out a few times and you just need to dust yourself off and keep on playing.
We saw this type of thing happen to Ronaldo when he was playing for Manchester United. As soon as Ronaldo came back from the 2006 world cup where he got Wayne Rooney sent off in the match between England and Portugal, the English fans started hating Ronaldo.
Ronaldo was also one of the fastest players for Manchester United and this is why it was very common for the defenders to give him a beating in every match. Good players need to be protected and Bale wasn’t protected last night. Bale believes some of the Cyprus players should have been sent off.
