Lady Gaga’s Social Accounts
A Few Facts at a Glance…
Lady Gaga came from a pretty well-off family but has said in interviews that her mom and dad had to work shifts in order to make ends meet. Now what the reality of the matter is remains a mystery!
Camille Paglia, the eccentric radical feminist, wrote an article about Lady Gaga in which she pointed out that past artists such as Madonna had built their base on a solid foundation of tradition which they had dared to challenge. Thus beautiful things had resulted from this friction with the past environment. But Gaga, according to Paglia, had just started nihilistically producing music that had insensible lyrics that were meaningless to boot. Camille called her efforts an exercise in emptiness and vapidity.
Lady Gaga has lost some of her earlier momentum due to a bit of slackening in her creative pace. It remains to be seen if she still has some embers of the original fire with which she sang such songs as “I Wish You Were Here” and “You and I”.
She is known for her supercreativity which has inspired so many spinoff cultural products and processes. From fashion statements such as a meat dress to acts of bizarre derangement such as arriving at a show sealed in an artificial egg, the Lady indeed doth protest too much! But she means it all in good faith and without any evil intentions (although PETA was flabbergasted by her meat dress which opposed their salad dress).
She sang in various clubs along the trajectory she took in her life as a famous star. Lady Gaga sang at the Lollapaloza and for a certain time being she was stuck in a shitty apartment and had to make do with the most crappiest food on the planet.
She got her name “Lady Gaga” from the Queen song ‘Radio Ga Ga”. Once it was decided upon she told her boss at the studio she went to never to call her Stefani again. And that was that!
Life Story…
Born in Lenox Hill Hospital, Lady Gaga screamed her way into this world right from the beginning. Her family were strict and Catholic. Maybe that is the exact reason she is such a regular rule breaker. Her mother’s name was Cindy Bisset and her daddy’s name was Joe Germanotta. She is part Italian American with a bit of French Canadian bloodline thrown in the mix. She has a younger sister too who is deeply into fashion. Lady Gaga studied at the Convent of the Sacred Heart. It was a very prim, proper and prudent upbringing that she had to undergo as a teenager. She also suffered from teasing and bullying by classmates and decided to try and fit in with the rest of the heedless herd. But this strategy didn’t work out and later she would forge her personality in the adversity of bitter experience. She quit her education soon and left for a rosier future.
Her pops told her that he would pay her provided that she returned to applying herself to her studies if she failed at being a pop star. Well, I guess that was one bet he lost in a big way. Lady Gaga would go on to surprise not only him but the entire world with her superior and distilled talent. She did endure hardship and even poverty along the way of seeking independence from her parents but her piano lessons (which she began at the tender age of four) especially came in handy. Like the great artist Picasso, Lady Gaga too had to go through the basics before she turned towards the primary art of music for music’s sake. That is why her music is child-like and not childish.
She entered the world of music with fresh vistas on her mind. She would be looking for the freedom and space to create new stuff that mattered. That was why she joined the underground and started making the coolest of songs which picked up speed with the passage of time.
And before you know it, Lady Gaga was making mucho money from her talent pool. Davis Bowie and Madonna were two of the biggest influences on her style. Her single “Just Dance” and “Paparazzi” made it to some extent. “Telephone” which features Beyonce was another hit. Some of her music videos invited strong criticism from various Christian groups for their explicit sexual content and blasphemous themes. “Alejandro” and “Born this Way” were about a past lover and the stubborness of genius in conflict with society. “The Edge of Glory” and “You and I” also struck a delicate chord with the public.
Lady Gaga grew up listening to many artists of her time. And she absorbed what was useful from their repertoires. She has had her wax statue installed at Madame Tussauds in London too. Finally “The Big G” has her philanthropic side. She has contributed to the welfare of society and has started the Born this Way Foundation. It seeks to help the dowtrodden youth of the country in its time of crisis. As for her support of LGBT rights, it goes without saying that such a supercharged person who is highly creative will automatically take the side of people who are different from the standard orthodox societal norms.
