- Metal frame for strong build
- S Pen for OS navigation
- Adaptive Fast Charging block
Samsung’s fourth gen phablet welcomes fresh enhancements on the inside and a brilliant look on the outside.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 was announced by the company at this year’s IFA event and the enhancements shown were quite interesting and we must admit we couldn’t wait any further to experience the bettered version of the already favorite Note 3. The Note formula has always followed a simple trend; with every new model there are more enhancements and the company has found new ways to make the S Pen the centerpiece of the device. So let’s have a look at how this device appears at first sight.
What we see on the outside
Upon first look we can rightly say that the device certainly sports a strong build which is not just shouting out ‘robust’ but also looks excellent. So in all the enhancements, the design feature has also been stepped up by Samsung. The metal frame of the device makes it more durable and obviously it helps to facilitate a premium look; more so than the plastic framed Note 3. The huge 5.7-inch Quad HD display only adds to the beauty of the device. Hats off to the Super AMOLED technology it gives the display the perfect sheen and the deep blacks and popping colors are something worth clapping for.
On the inside
Samsung’s phablet is full of impressive specs on the inside. The device runs on a 2.7GHz quad-core processor and features 3 GB worth of RAM. There is 32 GB storage which is expandable up to 64 GB. Apart from this there is everything you would expect to see on a beastly phone including a heart rate sensor, 3220mah battery, NFC, IR blaster and Bluetooth 4.1 support.
Camera enhancements
There is an impressive 3.7-megapixel shooter at the front of the device which also supports 1080p video. The back features a 16-megapixel camera and thanks to the optical image stabilization which comes with it, users will be able to shoot up to UHD quality video and a heart rate sensor.
The S Pen
The Note experience isn’t finished if you don’t get to try out the S Pen and this is one feature we look forward to with every new generation of the device. With enhancements at every generation, the feature keeps getting better and better. As soon as the S Pen is pulled out from beneath the phone, the Air Command dial instantly pops up and you will get all sorts of offers such as Action Memo, Smart select, Image clip and Screen write. The stylus can be used to navigate around every nook of the OS; it is more like a mouse which helps you navigate, scroll down and draw.
Upon first sight, the phablet might not appear to be drastically different from the Note 3 but when it comes to the design and quality, the enhancements can be quite clear if you put the model alongside the Note 3. Samsung has also tried to improve the portability of the phone and they sure have succeeded at it, thanks to the Adaptive Fast Charging block which lets you jump from 0 percent battery to 50 percent. If you think you are impressed by the device and what it has to offer, you can place your orders at the carriers.
