- She said that their children wrote their vows.
Janine di Giovanni sat down with Angelina Jolie following the photoshoot for this month’s issue of Vanity Fair. The first question that was posed by di Giovanni after Brad and Angelina’s surprise wedding in August was of course about how she felt about being married. To which she answered that it felt nice being husband and wife.
Angelina and Brad had been seeing each other for over a decade and always kept putting off getting married while they built their family together. They have three adopted children; Maddox, Pax, Zahara and three biological children; Shiloh, Knox, and Vivienne.
The couple met on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith in 2005 and fell in love. At that time, Jolie had recently divorced from Billy Bob Thornton and Pitt was still married to Jennifer Aniston. Pitt and Aniston soon divorced and Jolie and Pitt announced their relationship to the world.
Since then they have only been going stronger and the world ‘Brangelina’ has become a worldwide phenomenon. Even without being married they were a couple to be looked up to and they admitted that they were comfortable and secure in their relationship.
They have participated in many charities and social working services together and as individuals. They seemed to be inspiration but their kids might not have felt the same way. They wanted their parents to tie the knot and the adults finally gave in to the children.
They announced their wedding in August that was soon followed by the wedding photos of the couple taking their wedding vows surrounded by their children. Angelina and Brad had admitted earlier that the wedding was being planned entirely by their children and the whole ceremony was signifying of the children’s influence.
Angelina’s dress terrain was decorated by the children’s drawings and their cake was castle-inspired. According to Angelina, their wedding vows were also written by the children. The children enlisted that they will not surely ever fight but they would always say ‘Sorry.’
The children asked them “Do you?” to which the couple replied “We do.” Angelina said that it felt nice to be husband and wife. We have seen Brad and Angelina’s various photos online on their honeymoon in which the couple seem to come closer and look happier.
Other than her married life, di Giovanni asked about her political involvement. She said that her humanitarian work required for her to be politically aware to make any substantial change. She had changed her stance on being in an elected position. She responded that she was open to the option.
She also talked about her friendship with Louis Zamperini for her future feature film Unbroken. Zamperini is an Italian strret boy turned Olympic runner turned World War flying hero. She shared Unbroken’s first look with the hero.
She discussed Zamperini’s struggle with his ending life and became teary but she said she found his life inspiring. Her other upcoming film is with her hubby Brad Pitt titled By The Sea. The movie is about the challenges of a newly wedded couple and has received criticism but Jolie said it would be exciting since she would be directing.
