Apple Watch Steel Edition priced up to $500 and Special Edition up to $5000

Apple has proposed a price of $500 for its stainless steel model, whereas its special Edition models are going to cost between $4000 and $5000, according to rumor on Tuesday.

Although Apple has formally introduced their upcoming watch in September yet the watch remains shrouded in mystery. Questions like how many different versions are coming and what will be their price? Or when will we be able to actually purchase the watch? Still remain unanswered.  

However, when an Apple spokesman was inquired regarding these issues, he made piecemeal responses. He said that the official starting price would be more than $349 for the steel version and the consumers will be able to purchase the watch early next year. 

These vague answers could hardly satisfy our curiosity, so we had to dig out are sources in order to get answers that made sense and were not fragmented. According to our source, Apple is planning to propose $500 for its Stainless Steel watch whereas it is planning to charge a price between $4000 and $5000 for its Edition models.

Apple Watch Stainless Steel would either be polished or black sidereal on the other hand the Edition model would be available in yellow, gold or pink color. The only part of the watch that could be easily removed is a strap; the rest of the watch is completely sealed. 

Earlier the estimates that were made by the industry analysts and jewelers reported that the high end Apple watch Edition Model would cost around $1,200, but we can see how wrong they were. The Edition versions feature sapphire crystals and they are crafted from 18-karat gold.

They also come with various strap options. The metal used in the watch is twice as strong as the standard one, also Apple has not commented on whether the entire chassis of the watch is made out of solid gold or it is merely gold plated.

But after looking at the retail cost, one can presume that the entire chassis is solid gold. After all, consumers would not like to pay thousands of dollars for a watch that is only gold plated. 

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo was the only one who was able to make correct predictions regarding Apple watch. He said that the device would come in two sizes and various models would be introduced. The retail cost of every model would differ. He also said that the chances are the price of the wearable would be in thousands of dollars.

According to the site sources, Apple is still aiming on their initial release date i.e. Valentine’s Day 2015. This does remind us of an earlier report in which the company said that it would be lucky if it is able to release the watch by Valentine’s Day.

IGen.fr (via MacRumors) also said that the manufactures and sellers have mid-February as the release date in their minds and they are making preparations accordingly. However, just recently Angela Ahrendts, Apple Senior Vice President of Retail and Online Stores said that the watch will be launched in spring 2015.
