The Black Friday sales in stores can be dangerous. They have been even more dangerous years ago without proper crowd control in stores. These days the violence is not happening in stores for the most part. Security got stepped up after the death of a Walmart worker back in 2008.
Silk has analyzed the Black Friday injury and death reports since 2006.
Out of the 89 reported Black Friday injuries since 2006, 66% happened at or in a Walmart. Pepper spray was the main cause why a record 46 people were injured during Black Friday related events in 2011.
Since 2006, 12 Black Friday shoppers have been injured and three people killed by a stampede of other Black Friday shoppers.
