Idina Menzel sang Let It Go on New Year’s Eve. She along with the rest of the audience welcomed 2015 with a smile.

The singer who lent her voice to the OST of Frozen, Idina Menzel, made an appearance in Times Square for a farewell to 2014 and a welcome song for 2015. But somewhere along the line something went seriously wrong and her high note went awry.

The song Let It Be went 75% perfectly and the remaining remained as a source of gossip for bickering and nagging voices on Twitter. The fact that Idina was not well and feeling out of sorts at the moment only served to ruin her reputation instead of excusing the flaws in her performance.

Idina, when she got whiff of the messages on Twitter, replied in a very mature and formal manner by saying that she expected a perfectionist performance to be just right even if 75% of it went as per plan.

Idina Menzel also spoke of how she was not responsible for any small defects that others were quick to pounce upon. The snow was pouring around Times Square and so Idina was shivering too. It only served to make her rendition of the famous and heart-tugging song a bit offbeat in its timbre and melody.

It is common knowledge that the voice box or larynx is a very delicate and fragile organ of the human body. If you eat something with extra tart or spice in it, the result is a hoarse voice. And it is very banal to see rock stars literally scream their way to muteness.

#HappyNewYear everyone!

The vocal chords can only take so much after all. Beyond a certain point Nature takes over and the organ enters in-jury mode so as to give the process a rest. Many fellow colleagues of Idina Menzel came to her support and in fact lionized her for her bravery to face up to the public.

They said that the public was a nasty entity that only catered to the bungled and the botched and didn’t have the necessary grit to forgive and forget any mistakes. After all we were all human and to forget that one basic fact was to miss the whole point of being on this planet.

Spaceship earth was home to both singers and non-singers and the non-singers had no right to complain about what they couldn’t understand the very basics of…that is singing which is a difficult art! Bravo Idina Menzel! You are the best!
