Andrew Luck Goes 1st Overall in 2015 Pro Bowl Draft

Team Carter selected Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck first overall in the 2015 Pro Bowl draft on Jan. 21.

Andrew Luck is the first overall pick in the 2015 Pro Bowl draft.

Team Carter made Luck the No. 1 overall pick in the draft. Luck’s placing remains the same after two consecutive years. He also went first overall when the Indianapolis Colts drafted him out of Stanford in 2012, per NFL.com’s Dan Hanzus.

Luck told NFL Media’s Chris Rose that it’s “neat” to go first overall, per Hanzus. Hall of Fame wide receiver Cris Carter joked,”We’re going to take a little air out the football for him, though.” Carter was referring to the “DeflateGate” scandal where the New England Patriots allegedly deflated game balls used in last weekend’s AFC Championship Game against the Colts.

Another quarterback, the Dallas Cowboys‘ Tony Romo, was the second overall pick. He goes to Team Irvin. According to Hanzus, Romo earlier joked that Hall of Fame Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Irvin won’t be allowed to board the plane bound for Dallas if he passes up on the Cowboys quarterback.

Romo told Hanzus it’s “an honor” to play in the Pro Bowl. He quipped,”This is a special event, just for anybody who gets to play in the Pro Bowl. It’s just an honor to really play in the game. I don’t care if you’re first or last or any of that stuff, (I’m) just lucky to be a part of it.”
