Walmart enters the market of low-cost streaming sticks with the VUDU Spark. As always with VUDU, Walmart is late to the game.
The VUDU Spark Stick has surfaced on the VUDU site, spotted by GigaOM. The $25 Streaming Stick is not yet offered on walmart.com. According to GigaOM, the stick is already on sale since a while in about 2,400 Walmart stores. Looks like Walmart did a limited roll out to fix bugs before the masses would adopt the VUDU Spark.

Only problem is that costumers would need to be VUDU fans that do not use any other streaming service. In contrast to Google Chromecast and the Walmart stick only supports VUDU. Even the Amazon Fire TV stick is supporting all major other streaming services besides Amazon’s own service.
Walmart is throwing in $25 in VUDU credits if you buy the VUDU Spark. You earn $5 each month for 5 months. This means if you keep the Stick for 5 months you get it for free. The VUDU Spark comes without a power adapter. In case you connect the stick via HDMI to your TV you need a USB power adapter.

When the VUDU Spark is going to be widely available remains to be seen. It should be soon.
