Google and Mattel collaborate to launch a new Virtual Reality headset.

Google and Mattel have incorporated their efforts to provide consumers with an updated version of View Master, particularly kids.

The very first phenomenal View Master toy was launched back in 1939, in which color film used to give images a 3D impression. Google and Mattel have incorporated their efforts to provide consumers with an updated version of View Master, particularly kids. The new device acknowledged as ‘View Master’ was launched recently for preview. According to the sources, Mattel have utilized Google’s virtual reality cardboard technology as it can hook up with a number of various smartphones. To turn it on, users can slide in their smartphone handsets as it pairs with the virtual reality app instantly.

The cardboard technology was revealed by Google in year 2014. A simple and an economical technology which utilizes customer’s smartphone handset for a mind boggling 3D experience. The new View Master app can be downloaded on the smartphone handset by the customers, which can be further slide into the slot. In addition, the 3D tours can also be made available on reels incase more than one individual would like to enjoy the same tour. As far as View Master is concerned, the device does not require the reel functionality, as the tours can be downloaded through the app, however, Mattel does plan to introduce reels for old time sakes specifically for collectors.

Mattel and Google partnership has addressed this concern by introducing View Master. It is a simple to operate device which has a great potential for application developers that includes 3D technology. Many analysts believe that Mattel and Google will be able to capture bigger market share for kid’s toys by introducing such unique product.

Google official Mike Jazayeri believes that the virtual reality technology should be in the range of everyone. This can be achieved only by introducing such economical devices. Though the virtual reality devices seem to have many interesting features, a number of people have complained regarding nausea and dizziness after giving it a try, however, Mattel official states that the product is safe to use for kids if used for a certain time limit.
