Relentless innovation. These were the two words that Samsung CEO JK Shin used in unwrapping the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. Now that Samsung’s “next big thing” are here, it’s time for mobile carriers to announce their availability.

Verizon is leading the way, announcing that it will launch the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge in the second quarter of the year, although it didn’t gave a specific date. At Samsung’s Unpacked Event this week, Samsung said that will launch the two devices globally on April 10. It is safe to assume that Verizon will be attending the event.

Samsung is expecting that the sales of its new devices will outperform previous models. Andy Tu, general manager of Samsung’s mobile communications in Taiwan, told DigiTimes that Samsung has responded to criticisms by taking giant leaps in terms of design. Loyal Samsung fans praised the company for using metal on the new Galaxy devices.

However, Samsung had to sacrifice two features in favor of the new and sleeker design. To be specific, Samsung had to stop supporting the capability to replace batteries, which, ironically, is one of the reasons why Samsung’s phones are so popular. The company also had to kill the expandable storage—another disappointing move for die-hard fans.

Meanwhile, check out Samsung’s full announcement below.
