- Sherlock goes back to its era of origin
Sherlock’s new season special will feature the show in the 19th century and is a story in its own right.
It was the return of Moriarty and return of Sherlock. Well on the show, not on the TV. BBC and PBS is yet to announce the release dates of the new season. Will that stop the Sherlockians to wander around and try and find more things about the upcoming seasons.
A few curious Sherlockians hung around the sets where Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman were shooting in the Victorian age attire. Speculation sparked and there were all kinds of idea including that Sherlock and Watson will be time traveling or it might be a dream sequence or they must be in another dimension.
Co-creator Stephen Moffat came out to put the rumors to rest and explain the totally cool attires Cumberbatch and Martin were in. Supposedly the actors were shooting for a special episode in which they will be in the Victorian era. Moffat said that the episode is not a part of the sequence story but rather a story in its own. The storyline will not stray because of the episode.
Moffat explained to EW that they wanted to do something special on the show and this seemed to be a good idea. It would be interesting to see Cumberbatch and Freeman more like Downey Jr. and Law in the Sherlock Holmes movies which had been set in the Victorian age. It will also spur comparisons but with Emmy winning performances on the show, the actors are anticipated to do a brilliant job.
