The first teaser of the highly anticipated ‘True Detective’ Season 2 has been dropped by HBO.
The season 2 of the acclaimed crime drama ‘True Detective’ created by Nic Pizzolatto will be set in Los Angeles this time around and features new A-list cast members such as Colin Farrell, Vince Vaughn, Taylor Kitsch and Rachel McAdams.
The second season will consist of a total eight episodes and will be premiering this summer on June 21st. The story revolves around three police officers played by Farrell, Kitsch and McAdams, while they are after a criminal played by Vaughn in the drop back of a murder mystery.
A lot of intense plot developments could be glimpsed from the short one minute promo. Farrell is a compromised detective Ray Velcoro and has a seemingly impressive moustache.
Rachel McAdams on the other hand has made quite an impression within just a few seconds of her appearance on the trailer and suffice to say her character will be a headstrong and badass cop. McAdams character Ani Bezzerides is a Ventura County detective and has already personified the role as a cop not always in deference of the system.
Vaughn has been shown as a bona fide criminal who is on the brink of losing all his life’s work. Kelly Reilly has also been included in the cast and will portray Vaughn’s wife, who is shown to be struggling as her role in the crime world and her personal choices.
Taylor Kitsch’s character Paul Woodrugh is a previous war veteran and now a California Highway Patrol motorcycle cop who initially discovers the crime scene of the murder which triggers the plot of the second season of the series surrounding the investigation. The trailer cuts scene to where we see murder, conspiracy, betrayal, motorcycles and billions of dollars.
