Lenovo's A1900 is the company's latest entry level smartphone

The phone costs $60 and is a droid with a quad-core CPU

It’s not hard to see how the high profile brands manage to get all the limelight for their launches and announcements but in between all this hype and craziness we seem to miss out on some low key developments. Among all the bigger launches and announcements of this year, we seemed to have gone past the brand new Lenovo A1900 which is an important smartphone for those who want to keep staying on their budget.

The entry-level device has been priced at a mere $60 and judging from the price tag we can clearly say that we already know we cant expect much to be going on around here. There are no technological miracles here but we must say that at this price, the device is a good one and settles well for a smartphone.

It is powered by a Spreadtrum SC7730 chipset with a 1.2GHz quad-core processor and Mali-400 GPU and comes with a 512MB of RAM. The phone has 4 GB worth storage space which is expandable by microSD. The 4-inch 800×480 pixel display with 233ppi density seems to be quite decent under the given price and comes along with an IPS panel. The body measurements are 121 x 62 x 9.5 and the device weighs only 117g. Other features include triple-band 2G and 2100MHz 3G connectivity as well as GPS, Wi-Fi and FM radio.
