A senior analyst at Rentrak explains the amazing all time gross for a ‘Fast & Furious’ film is due to the early release timing of the film as Furious 7 is the epitome of a popcorn movie and even though summer is still mot here it gives the feeling it already is.
The release of Furious 7 in April avoided fierce competition with other major summer films as other major films to be released in summer 2015 are major gamers such as ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’.

Furious 7 is also the fastest Universal studio release to have crossed $200 million gross in only eight days. Furious 7 is now also one of the few films to have ever crossed the $60 million gross in its second weekend.
Another reason for such massive ticket sales is ‘The Paul Walker Effect’ as fans want the last chance to see the appearance of Paul Walker who died in 2013.
Walker a veteran ‘Fast & Furious’ cast member passed away after being in a freak car accident at the age of 40. Furious 7 is also receiving the best reviews from critics from all the films in the ‘Fast & Furious’ franchise.
