Vin Diesel took the stage of the MTV Movie Awards to pay tribute to his deceased long-time friend Paul Walker in the best possible way. The veteran action films actor was about to present the Golden Popcorn for Best Female Performance as the track ‘See You Again’ by Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth started playing in the background. The song is originally played in the end of the Furious 7 movie as homage to the deceased cat member Paul Walker.
Diesel went on to share that the last time he had been on the MTV Movie Awards stage he was with his brother Pablo ( Pablo used to be Diesel nickname for his friend Paul Walker) and told the crown he loves the intro because it is a beautiful song.
Diesel then took the crowd by surprise when he started singing a line from the song ‘See You Again’ which spelled out it has been a very long day without his friend and when he will tell is friend all about it when they meet again.
Diesel had been wearing a Furious 7 T-Shirt when he delivered the musical tribute to the late Paul Walker who dies in 2013 in a car crash. Since Walker’s death Diesel has shared his feelings of loss regarding Walker as a close friend on several occasions. After the surprise performance Diesel announced the winner Shailene Woodley and quietly stepped down from the stage.
Diesel later revealed his impromptu performance had been inspired by his 4 year old son who keeps on singing the song all the time and especially sings it for Michelle Rodriguez and Nathalie Emmanuel when they are at his home. Although Diesel was not nominated for any Golden popcorn at this year’s event, he sure won a lot of love with the fans at the MTV awards.
