The “Glee” star tweeted his first pictures as the Easy Berlin rocker.
Darren Criss is the newest (and youngest!) member of the Hedwig family, and we have to say – mama is looking really good! The 28-year-old actor and singer is taking over the titular role of Hedwig in Hedwig and the Angry Inch from John Cameron Mitchell, the creator and original Hedwig.
The hearthrob has been creating quite a bit of buzz from within the Broadway community and outside of it: Darren is a somewhat out of the box choice. He is definitely a little more rock and role than the other Hedwigs (JCM withstanding) and has quite a different look, as you can see in the first official picture and tweet he shared:

With that eyeshadow and those lips, he’s going to be breaking a few hearts inside of the Belasco Theater.
The Tony Award winning show Hedwig and the Angry Inch tells the story of a transgender rock band singer (Hedwig) who was born male and underwent a botched sex change, leaving the East German beauty with remnants of her manhood.
Criss will play the part in a limited 12-week engagement from April 26-July 19.
