Sarah Jessica Parker will be returning to TV to star in a HBO comedy series entitled ‘Divorce’.
Sarah Jessica Parker is returning to her TV roots with a news comedy series entitled ‘Divorce’. ‘Divorce’ will be an HBO production and the network has given it the green light for further filming.
Parker will be returning to TV after a decade long break since her hugely successful HBO series ‘Sex and the City’. Parker’s last TV role was iconic as Carrie Bradshaw in SATC which followed the life of a young writer in New York City.
‘Divorce’ was written by the Sharon Horgan the Irish actress and sold to the network HBO with Parker already attached to the project. Horgan will also be executively producing the show. The pilot of ‘Divorce’ has already been filmed by the director Jesse Peretz and was delivered to HBO recently, according to Deadline.
The series has been garnering the hype on the social media and the network circles since its pilot was filmed, probably because Divorce will be Parker’s second major commitment to TV work since SATC. Parker will also be producing the series through her production banner. Other cast members include Thomas Haden Church, Molly Shannon and Talia Balsam.
The series ‘Divorce’ will be filmed in New York City and will follow the story of a woman named Frances who is involved in a very very long divorce. Frances will be played by Parker who will come to realize that getting a divorce and moving on is not very easy and harder than she had anticipated.
The plot of the series will show all the challenges Frances will face due to the divorce and her coping mechanism all in a comedic light. Thomas Haden Church will play the husband from whom Frances is getting divorced and Shannon & Balsam will play Frances’ friends.
