- WhatsApp starts rolling out Free Voice Calling Feature for iOS Users
The iPhone and iPad users have been waiting for this for quite some time and now they start receiving the free voice calling feature for their WhatsApp application.
A month ago WhatsApp released the free voice call feature for Android users. This feature has been a big hit because previously users were divided between the Line and Viber application. A lot of the users were using WhatsApp for their messaging needs. Then WhatsApp decided to introduce the free calling feature for their users.
This is why many users have shifted from other apps and gone straight to the new WhatsApp app. This new update leaves the WhatsApp competition in the wind and now the sky is the limit for them. Facebook Messenger has also started to get a lot of users but still many users are hesitant in using this app because of its policies.
So now the iOS users will get the new updated WhatsApp application and they will also now enjoy the free calling feature. WhatsApp said that the new update is rolling out slowly so the users will have to wait for a couple of weeks.
WhatsApp already has 800 million users and this new update will surely upset a lot of carriers. Some other features are also going to be added to the iOS WhatsApp. The iOS users will receive support for 8 share extension.
This allows the users to send photos and videos and they can also link to WhatsApp chats from other apps. The users will also be able to take photos from inside the chat. This feature can also be found in the Facebook Messenger app.
You can also send multiple videos at the same time. You can also edit your photos from inside WhatsApp before sending them. Features like cropping and rotating exist in the application.
WhatsApp also released a desktop web client in January. This meant that the users were able to use the application even if their smartphone wasn’t with them. This feature is just like the one Viber provides with its own desktop app.
