Madonna Gets Slammed For Texting During Broadway Show

The singer texted all throughout the second act of Broadway’s newest hit, Hamilton.

Lin-Manuel Miranda, star of the most requested ticket on Broadway, Hamilton, is calling out Madonna for texting throughout the second act of his show. The star Tweeted (and later deleted) “Tonight was the first time I asked stage management NOT to allow a celebrity (who was texting all through Act 2) backstage #noselfieforyou.” Fans who attended the show also called her out, claiming that they were distracted.

It wasn’t enoguh to just text, according to E, she also showed up late and made quite a ruckus coming into the building. She entered late with a huge bodyguard and took her seat. Anyone who has been to the theatre knows that it is quite small, and even shifting in your seat can cause distraction.

Madonna’s rep, of course, denies the story: “Madonna was not texting throughout the show and she was indeed invited backstage four separate times—before during and after the show, which she loved by the way.”

Only when someone else in the audience yelled, “Turn it off!” did the singer shut down her Blackberry.
