Apple took yesterday’s Earth Day celebration quite seriously and hired Pharrell for an Apple Campus concert.
Pharrell performed for Apple employees yesterday on the Apple Campus in Cupertino in celebration of Earth Day. Tim Cook shared an image of Pharrell on stage rocking of course the Apple Watch. He was the first celeb that has been spotted wearing a gold Apple Watch weeks ago.
Thanks @Pharrell for an unforgettable Earth Day celebration! pic.twitter.com/UT2zxbCBW9— Tim Cook (@tim_cook) April 23, 2015
Maybe the price for the treat was a free concert for Apple employees.
Apple is working hard on a green image after being called out by Green Peace repeatedly years ago. This year Apple released a movie showing off its new green initiatives that include partnering with The Conservation Fund to protect and create the type of forests we use in our packaging. We’ve developed a renewable micro‑hydro project to power our data center in Prineville, Oregon. And we’re building a solar farm in China to offset energy used by our offices and retail stores.
Tomorrow the first “commoners” will receive the Apple Watch. Many celebrities got treated to special editions including Katy Perry, Beyonce, Karl Lagerfeld, Drake and others ahead of the official launch of the Apple Watch. The Apple Stock is inching closer again to its all time high of $133.60 ahead of the Apple Watch sales launch that is tainted by extreme supply constraints. Apple only allows online orders for the Apple Watch. There will be no in-store inventory for weeks. The current shipping time frame for a new Apple Watch order is June.
