Idris Elba will have a ‘Kick-Ass’ villainous role in ‘Star Trek Beyond’.
Simon Pegg announced he will be writing a new and sort of ‘Kick-Ass’ role for Idris Elba in the third Star Trek film installment entitled ‘Star Trek Beyond’. Pegg announced the news at the CinemaCon at Las Vegas, while he was promoting the latest installment of Mission Impossible.
According to MTV, Pegg called Elba an extraordinary actor and he has been trying his best to write a ‘Kick-Ass’ character for the actor. Pegg explained the Star Trek team will be on a five year mission and they don’t want to keep on repeating characters as it’s a massive universe.
According to Pegg the Elba will play an original character which has never been seen before in the Star Trek Universe but he did not elaborate further on the character. Elba also refrained from commenting whether Elba will play a humanoid like the Klingon.
Pegg then went on to commend the original TV show of Star Trek as how the producers made an incredible show with little provisions and technology at the time. Pegg revealed he has been watching the original TV show for inspiration in the next film and to make a film for today but without forgetting its roots.
The name of the third Abrams’ Star Trek film was revealed to be ‘Star Trek Beyond’ a few days ago by TrekMovie.com. As the title indicates the movie will take the plot further into the galaxy then the previous two installments.
Simon Pegg related the film will be an adventure as the cast will be on an exploration mission for a long term and how it will affect them. The movie is about fun and optimism and it will go beyond in the Star Trek universe where no one has ever gone before and will be released in 2016.
