Xiaomi Mi 4i Unveiled for Global Markets

Chinese Xiaomi unveiled their first smartphone to be sold outside of China.

At an event in India, Xiaomi unveiled the Xiaomi Mi 4i smartphone. The Mi 4i is the first Xiaomi phone to be officially sold outside of China. The Xiaomi Mi 4i features Android 5.0.2 Lollipop, a 64-bit 1.65GHz octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor, Adreno 405 GPU, 2GB of RAM, a 5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) display, sunlight display, Corning OGS Glass, a 13-megapixel rear camera, a 5-megapixel front camera, 16GB of built-in storage and 4G Dual SIM. The front camera supports so called beautify features to make selfies automatically better quality.

The feature set of the Xiaomi Mi 4i is high-end, but the price is not. The Xiaomi Mi 4i will go on sale in India for about $200.

The Xiaomi Mi 4i will be available in 5 colors. The new Xiaomi phone will be available in several Asian markets in May. There is no word yet when Xiaomi is ready to take on the US market.

Xiaomi is extremely successful in China. Depending which analyst to believe Xiaomi tops Apple or is the number two in the Chinese smartphone market.
