Minus the Duo Camera, the phone features all the goodness of the HTC flagship M9+
It’s all about the bigger screens and larger smartphones everywhere. The Western markets have a particular fascination with the HTC One M9 but the M9+, with its slightly bigger form factor, has been taking away hearts everywhere. It was initially thought that the bigger version would probably not make its way to the Asian markets but this possibility seems to have been shrinking over time. Regardless of what the outcome of this would be, HTC has an all new version planned for the area.
This new mysterious plastic variant has been dubbed as the “M9e” and has leaked from China’s TENAA certification database. The model pretty much seems like an alternative version for the HTC M9+. With the same features, minus the Duo Camera, the plastic variant is holding up all the M9+ goodness including the following features;
• 5.2-inch Quad HD display
• 2.2GHz octa-core processor (likely MediaTek’s)
• 3GB of RAM, 20-megapixel main camera (with dual-tone flash)
• UltraPixel front imager • microSD card expansion
• fingerprint reader
One ambiguity still remains regarding the IR blaster at the top and we are not really sure this new plastic variant is going to feature it or not. The price however is a certain matter and we are certainly hoping for the phone to fall into the affordable pit.
