Bollywood Actor Salman Khan Sentenced to 5 Years in Jail

Famous Bollywood actor Salman Khan received a 5-year jail term for a hit and run accident.

Popular Bollywood actor Salman Khan got sentenced to 5 years in prison for an hit-and-run incident back 2002. He is accused of driving his car into a bakery in Mumbai and killing an homeless man who was sleeping on the street in front of the bakery. In the incident 4 other homeless got run over.

Salman Khan pleaded not guilty and says that his driver was behind the wheel.

The judge has though come to the conclusion today that Salman Khan was driving under the influence of alcohol reports the BBC. He could have faced up to 10 years. It is expected though that Khan will appeal the verdict.

49-year-old Salman Khan started his career in the late 80s and is besides an actor, a producer and TV personality. His most recent movies included Dabangg 2, Jai Ho and Kick.
