For the first time, James McAvoy is playing professor X without full head of hair
James MaAvoy is finally getting his head shaved for the ninth and the latest installment of X-Men series. The 36-year old actor is playing the character of Charles Xavier/Professor X in X-Men: Apocalypse like he did in the X-Men: First Class and X-Men: Days of Future Past. But this time around, he is doing in a way which is quite close to the Marvel’s comic book original character of Professor X in terms of looks (which is obviously bald).
Director Bryan Jay Singer posted a photo of James McAvoy shaving off his hair, with the caption “Xavier reborn (in process)”.
The sequel is set in 1980s and will feature Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, Sophie Turner, Nicolas Hoult and Alexandra Shipp as the lead cast of the film. The film will introduce few new mutants as well including Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac), Psylocke (Olivia Munn) and Jubilee (Lana Condor).
X-Men: Apocalypse will be directed by Bryan Singer who has been the director of four previous installments of the series (not back to back). The screenplay is written by once again Simon Kinberg who gained popularity with the X-Men series. The story is conceived by Dan Harris, Michael Dougherty, Singer and Kinberg himself.
According to Singer, the film will take place 20 years before the first X-Men and will focus on the origin of the mutants. The younger version of Cyclops, Jean Grey and Storm will be featured in the film. The shooting of the film has been commenced in Canada since April and the film will premiere on /4/27, 2016.
