Prince Honored Freddie Gray at Rally 4 Peace in Baltimore

Prince has held a Baltimore gig on Sunday to honor Freddie Gray and he called it Rally 4 Peace.

Prince wanted to become a community healer as he came out for a gig on Sunday. He led a peace concert in Baltimore. Violent protests broke out after Freddie Gray died. Freddie was an African-American. He sustained a lot of injuries while he was in the custody of the Baltimore police.

Prince threw a rally called the Rally 4 Peace and this was at a downtown arena. He sang a song for this scarred US city. Prince realizes that the black folks aren’t being treated equally and he knows that retaliating in a violent way will only make things harder for them.

Prince sang the song ‘Baltimore’ and he even brought to the stage Marilyn Mosby. He is the young prosecutor who surprised many demonstrators at the rally. He told the rally that six police officers have been charged for Freddie Gray’s death.

The songs makes people more hopeful and it stops the anger in hearts of thousands, according to Telegraph. Last year Michael Brown was shot by an officer in Ferguson, Missouri. The fact that he was a teenager and he wasn’t even armed, angered many.

The police in Ferguson has been very biased against black folks. Prince’s song drove home the message of empowerment in one of his signature songs. Prince told the folks through his song that the system is broken and only the young people will be able to fix it.

Prince said that all of us will have to deal with the situation with peace. He said that he wanted to stay that night in a hotel which was owned by one of the folks that were at the rally. Prince has done a lot for the African-American community.

He rose to superstardom in the 1980s. After that he has made many headlines regarding his music. Prince even foreshadowed his new activism at the Grammy Awards. Over there he made a brief appearance to the Ferguson-inspired slogan, ‘Black lives matter’.
