The famous Mexican director, Guillermo del Toro lauded the Cannes Film Festival as an ideal talent hub. He especially said that the nexus allowed newcomers a shot at success in the film industry.
The director, Guillermo Del Toro, spoke recently about how he had arrived at the Cannes Film Festival in the capacity of a judge who would evaluate various movies.
He told Reuters that he clearly remembered the time when he began his journey 22 years ago at the same spot as a novice. He took the opportunity to offer a moment to the newly rising makers of movies to make it big via the launchpad services of the festival.
Del Toro’s first movie “Chronos” aired at Cannes. He is also the acclaimed director of Pan’s Labyrinth, a noir fantastique. Del Toro will get to comment on a number of films alongside the Coen brothers at the festival which begins today.
The venue is the beautifully exotic French Riviera. Another judge on the occasion, Xavier Dolan, spoke of how it was a great honor to be chosen for the coveted position at such a youthful age.
Some of the other individuals who will sit on the judge’s panel at Cannes include: Jake Gyllenhaal, Sienna Miller, Sophie Marceau, Rossy de Palma and Rokia Traore.
