- AT&T Will Bring Hulu For Its Customers At The End Of This Year
Hulu and AT&T are joining hands and have made a deal which will see AT&T bringing Hulu services for its customers.
So Hulu and AT&T signed a deal which will see Hulu services being brought to AT&T customers. The AT&T customers will be getting video streaming services on both mobile devices and on the web.
The service will be started by the end of this year and the customers will be able to access Hulu shows though an AT&T app on their smartphones. The customers will also be able to access Hulu content through the AT&T website.
Both of these companies are also exploring the possibility of bringing the Hulu app to TVs. If the TV app is made, then it will be similar to the Hulu apps. Many other distributors are already planning to offer customers by way of their set top boxes.
“We know that our customers want to be able to access video on multiple devices,” said Andrew Goodman, associate vice president, AT&T content acquisition. “So we’re excited to be able to expand our relationship with Hulu and make its innovative and vast video selections available to AT&T customers on multiple screens.”
“At Hulu, we strive to create the best possible video experience for customers – offering them the ability to view their favorite content, when, where and how they want,” said Tim Connolly, Hulu’s senior vice president of partnerships and distribution. “We are excited to be working with AT&T to connect its customers with our premium content on every screen.”
Before this latest deal between AT&T and Hulu, they already had a deal which focused on distributing Hulu’s free content. This latest deal has been made to expand access to Hulu’s premium tier.
Previously AT&T would show some of Hulu’s content by an embedded player on their own websites. So by the nature of this deal we will see more driving subscriptions for Hulu. The new AT&T app will offer customers with a selection of clips and some long form content which will have a link to view full episodes.
When the customers will click the link, it will bring them to the Hulu sign up page. They can easily login if they are already a customer. Customers would be able to browse and search Hulu content from within the AT&T app which was confirmed from the company.
Currently the Hulu subscribers are paying $7.99 a month fee and are able to tap into the service’s large library. The Hulu premium tier is a paid service and AT&T is thinking of bringing the customers a bundled pricing that would include Hulu alongside other AT&T services or some other content in the future.
