The first photos from the prequel to the 2001 movie ‘Wet Hot American Summer’ have been released by Netflix.

The 2001 movie shown on Netflix ‘Wet Hot American Summer’ was an 80’s throwback camp comedy. Now the prequel to the movie is being released in the form of a series ‘Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp’ is about to be released and the first look is here.

Netflix has released official photos from the prequel series just in time for the Memorial Day. The photos show the entire cast embracing their summer camping roots at the favorite camp Cam Firewood.

‘Wet Hot American Summer’ was an original movie while the prequel will be a series on Netflix. The series will see the entire original cast returning to carry out their antics before the events of the movie. The time line of the movie was set in the summer of the year 1981, while the prequel series will show a time even before that as the sow takes place on the first day of the camp.

According to David Wain in real life all the cast members are 15 years older but they will be portraying their roles about 2 months younger than they were in the movie. The series ‘Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp’ will be released on Netflix on the 31st of July this year. 

Members back for the series from the original movie cast include Janeane Garofalo, Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Banks, Amy Poehler, Bradley Cooper, Christopher Meloni, Michael Ian Black, Judah Friedlander, Ken Marino, Zak Orth, David Hyde Pierce, Joe LoTruglio, Marguerite Moreau, Molly Shannon, H. Jon Benjamin, Nina Hellman, A.D. Miles, Marisa Ryan, & Kevin Sussman. 

In addition to the original cast members more new characters have been added making the cast a whopping star studded affair. New cast members include Chris Pine, Jon Hamm, Kristen Wiig, Jason Schwartzman, Michaela Watkins, Josh Charles, John Slattery, Randall Park, Lake Bell, Jayma Mays, Paul Scheer, Rob Huebel, and Richard Schiff.
