The ‘Saved by the Bell’ actor Dustin Diamond convicted of carrying a concealed weapon and disorderly conduct leading to 9 months in jail.
Dustin Diamond used to play Screech on the hit 90’s sitcom ‘Saved by the Bell’ and people adored the lovable antics of the characters. However it seems Dustin Diamond has left his past days of being adored behind and was recently involved in a stabbing case.
In December 2014 the 38 years old actor Dustin Diamond got into a fight in a Port Washington bar which resulted in a man being stabbed. On Friday the hearing for the case finally took place as Dustin Diamond pleaded not guilty to charges of felony and testified he never wanted to stab anyone during the fight which occurred in December.
Diamond also revealed he had only been trying to scare people with a pocket knife after his girlfriend Amy Schutz had been punched in the face during the barroom brawl. During his testimony Diamond explained how some people in the bar wanted to take his picture while other were trying to badger him which resulted in an alteration.
However a man named Casey Smet was accidentally stabbed by Diamond on Christmas Day after the fight and according to Smet he didn’t even realize he had been stabbed until after he left the bar.
Dustin Diamond was not convicted on felony charge of recklessly endangering public safety by the court on Friday but he was convicted of carrying a concealed weapon and disorderly conduct. The judgement was announced by the jury in the Wisconsin court.
The conviction of Diamond on charges of misdemeanor can carry a maximum sentence of nine months in prison and the second charge of carrying a concealed weapon can add an additional ninety days to his jail time, reported People. Amy Schutz the girlfriend of Dustin Diamond has also been charged with disorderly conduct and /4/have to serve ninety days in prison.
