A. Alfred Taubman, billionaire modern enclosed shopping mall founder and philanthropist, died at 91.

A. Alfred Taubmanthe self-made billionaire recently died due to a heart attack. The information of Taubman’s demise was released by his son Robert S. Taubman in an email to all his employees at the Taubman Centers.

Robert Taubman the Chairman and CEO of the Taubman Centers related he has some very sad news for all his employees as his father passed away at Bloomfield Hall the very evening the email was sent. 

Robert Taubman revealed the company and everyone attached to it were the greatest joy of his father’s life and his father was very proud of the company he founded 65 years ago and all of its accomplishments.

After dinner at his home A. Alfred Taubman suffered from a heart attack which took his life but he led a life full of extraordinary endeavors and people according to his son Robert Taubman. Robert Taubman also shared how difficult it is for him to express his sadness and his team will be informing every one of the memorial plan very soon.

Although his father has passed away but his father’s vision will always remain with Robert Taubman and his staff, which will continue to guide and inspire them. Finally Robert Taubman thanked everyone from behalf of his family through the difficult time. 

A. Alfred Taubman was born in 1942 to a German-Jewish immigrant family and launched his first Real Estate Company in the 1950’s. A. Alfred Taubman is credited with making the modern malls as his company was the first to have placed the parking lots in the front which turned out to be a huge success.

A. Alfred Taubman turned over the reins of the company to his sons Robert and William Taubman later in life and devoted himself to philanthropy.
