Guinness World Records
Canadian builds hoverboard that is real and it carried him a World record breaking 276m over water.
Hoverboards have been on geek minds since Back to the Future II came out. A working hoverboard has never really be achieved and geeks had to suffer through the Hoverboard hoax HUVr a year ago. Now there is a real working Hoverboard invented by Canadian Catalin Alexandru Duru.
He proved that his hoverboard works by setting a new Guinness World Record. He was flying on his hoverboard 275.9m (905 ft 2 in) over water at a height of 5 meter above the water surface. The video below shows this incredible stunt. Now if the Canadian inventor finds a way to make his Hoverboard silent, he will have a winning product.
Mr. Duru says that he built his hoverboard over the course of 12 months. It can reach what he describes as “scary heights” and not just hover over a surface at a couple meters. The hoverboard also works on any surface and not just water.
Mr. Duru is working actively with partners in a company called All Terrain Hoverboards to bring hoverboards to the consumer market. He got some funding from the Canadian government to get started. The site of All Terrain Hoverboards is only hosting the record breaking video for now.
Catalin Alexandru Duru set the hoverboard record at Lake Ouareau in Quebec, Canada on August 25 2014.
