“Revenge”, the ABC’s prime-time mystery series, is finally coming to an end after four seasons.
The executive producer of the series confirmed the cancellation, also announcing the airing date of final episode which is /4/10. “We can officially tell our fans that this will be the end of the story,” Sunil Nayar executive producer of the show told Entertainment Weekly. “We’ve been talking to the network and we all just wanted to make sure that we felt very confident.”
The promo of the series finale has been running on ABC for a while and after the killing of the lead character Victoria Grayson, played by Madeleine Stowes, it seems to be a perfect time to end the series.
“Now that everybody has seen the finale – which is fabulous – everybody understands that as much as we all adore the show, it has hit exactly the mark it needed to end. This is the series finale of “Revenge” that will be airing in a couple weeks.” Sunil said.
The series that has been started in 2011 faced many ups and downs throughout the course of those four years. Revenge was overall a high-rated series on ABC, becoming the first priority of the views for the 10 p.m. time-slot against all the shows of all the other television networks. The pilot episode of the first season garnered a high 3.3 Nielsen ratings among 18-49 demo, followed by a remarkably consistent ratings throughout the season. The second season also started off with a bang but ended on low with last episode getting 1.4 rating in the adults. The third season turned out to be an average one but somehow managed to grab the attention of the viewers. Revenge declined sharply in the fourth season with getting just 1.10 average ratings in 18-49 adults.
