- Miranda Lambert wins 4 ACM Awards
- Luke Bryan wins Entertainer Of The Year
- Taylor Swift wins Youngest ACM Entertainer of the Year
Academy of Country Music Awards 2015 which took place in Arlington, Texas this year saw many singers and musicians get their due share of accolades. It was a country pop star-studded event that wowed the audience with its razzle dazzle.
The ACM Awards had Miranda Lambert winning at least four awards one after the other. These included best album and song of the year. However, she lost out to Luke Bryan as far as the top category in prizes was concerned.
The situation eerily resembled the CMA Awards awhile back in which Miranda won on many counts but lost the big one to (Surprise! Surprise!) Luke Bryan.
Bryan was especially excited to be receiving such an honorable and laudatory title. He thanked his fans and made special mention of his wife and family whom he loved more than life.
Miranda Lambert was the entertainer of the year and this was a coveted position she snatched from other big time heavyweights such as Garth Brooks and Jason Aldean. Although she lost the best of the best to Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert was very excited to just be there and be involved in doing some performing.
She understood the fact that winning or losing isn’t everything. It is how you play the game. When she performed Little Red Wagon she looked very sexy and totally out of this world. She claimed that she was really infatuated with her career as a country musician.
Miranda Lambert was dressed to kill and accepted an award for a 50th anniversary milestone from Reese Witherspoon and Sophia Vergara.
Taylor Swift virtually converted the night of the awards into a family thing. Her mom, who is currently battling cancer, gave the award to her famous daughter. She was the proudest mom on the planet at that moment in time.
And Taylor also said that she loved to explore music and she had her roots in Nashville, Tennessee despite her forays into the pop genre. Taylor’s dad Scott Swift was with her at the moment too.
Garth Brooks, Kenny Chesney and George Strait also received awards from each according to his or her ability to each according to his or her means. George Strait sang “All My Ex’s Live in Texas”.
The crowd rocked to that funky number. The event took place in the Dallas Cowboys Stadium. As for the gracious hosts of the show, they were none other than Shelton and Luke Bryan.
The two did some playful and non-serious acts to break the ice too. They passed a football between them on stage to lighten the mood a bit. There was talk of the deflate-gate scandal which provided some much-needed tickling of the funny bone.
Christina Aguilera alongside Rascal Flatts and Nick Jonas did some singing in a sensational manner of their own. Brooks especially lent a heartfelt tribute to the brave and courageous men and women of the armed forces who were risking their lives so that the freedom and integrity of the American people could remain intact.
They indeed deserved all the praise and were the real heroes of the evening. As long as they were there fighting the good fight, the terrorists did not have a chance of invading or harming what was essentially the Free World.
Miranda Lambert’s “Automatic” was the song of the year. The ceremony that took place in Arlington, Texas also made it into the Guinness Book of World Records as a live show with the most humongous attendance of celebs and their fans. The memories of this event will live long in the form of memes both online and offline. It was indeed a night to remember.
