Adobe releases the latest version of Lightroom.
Abobe has launched a new version of its popular image processor and organizer. Lightroom CC brings an array of new features that can be enjoyed across the desktop, web, and mobile devices. The first main feature of Lightroom CC is HDR Merge, which lets you create surreal images by combining multiple shots, even those taken with different exposure settings.
Another feature is Panorama Merge, which stitches together multiple images to create gorgeous panorama images. And, yes, you can include raw files. If you’ve been dreaming of facial recognition on Lightroom, then consider yourself lucky, as Lightroom CC supports facial recognition, making it easier to search and organize photos.
Furthermore, Lightroom CC now features advanced video slideshows such as pan and zoom. Also, expect some improvement to the web galleries. Adobe now lets you showcase your work using HTML5-compatible gallery templates which look great on desktop and mobile devices. There’s even a new filter brush that you can use to edit a filter’s mask. Of course, the latest version will be dull without the nifty performance improvements. Lightroom CC is 10 times faster, especially when using the Develop module.
Lastly, Adobe is updating its Lightroom apps on mobile devices. The big news is support for Android tablets. Yes, you can now use Lightroom on your Android tablet. And it gets better with the capability to use the SD card on any Android device. Also, devices running the latest version of Android can now directly import their DNG files. As for those on iOS, Adobe has simplified the tiles in the crop UI, making it easier to find aspect ratios. Those with a Creative cloud subscription can start downloading Lightroom CC.
