Android M Leaks briefly in Google I/O 2015 Schedule

A session on the schedule for the upcoming Google I/O developer conference leaked the Android M, the next version of Android. Google has pulled the schedule entry now.

Android L aka Android 5.0 Lollipop got previewed at the Google I/O last year. This year Google might already introduce the next Android version to developers. Android M (start the name guessing: My bet is on Android Marshmellow) leaked in a Google I/O 2015 schedule entry. Google has now removed the entry.

Droid-Life has a copy of the entry titled: Develop & Design, Android, Tools & APIs, Audience Growth, Sandbox Talks. It reads: “Android M is bringing the power of Android to all kinds of workplaces. This opens huge new markets for hundreds of millions of devices to workers at small business, desk-less workers, logistics and warehousing jobs; all be empowered by adoption of Android devices at Work.”

This leak gives away a highlight of the Google I/O keynote, but the focus on “Work” could make the announcement less exciting for consumers. The new Android 5.0 Lollipop is still rolling out to devices. According to Google 9% of devices are now running Lollipop. The majority of Android devices (40%) is still on Android 4.4 KitKat.

The Google I/O 2015 will kick off with the keynote at 9:30am PDT on /4/28. Tickets are of course already sold out for this conference taking place at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.
