Android Wear Smartwatch App for Apple iPhone Coming

Android Wear Smartwatch App for Apple iPhone Coming

New report says Google is almost ready with a Android Wear companion app for the iPhone.

Android Wear powered smartwatches could soon work with the Apple iPhone. Sources of The Verge say that Google is close to finishing the final technical details on the Android Wear iPhone App.

It is not clear yet what features the Android Wear iPhone app would support. Notifications are for sure part of the feature set, but if Android Wear smartwatches will be able to control the music player on the iPhone remains to be seen.

The big question is if Apple would approve an Android Wear app. The app would enable Google powered smartwatches to directly compete with the soon to be released Apple Watch. The Android Wear app on the iPhone would also be very important for the Tag Heuer smartwatch. If its limited to Android Phone users it would limit the potential market for Tag Heuer.

If the Android Wear app for iPhone is offering the same feature set like on Android phones, than maybe Apple should be concerned. On the other hand it is not fair to its iPhone customers to limit their choice of smartwatches. /4/the best Smartwatch win.

The Apple Watch lost a bit of its thunder through mixed pundit reviews. It is buggy and slow. Not a big surprise. It is the typical first generation Apple product. Everybody wants one, but it would be wiser to wait for the Apple Watch 2.
