iPhone 4 tipped to head to India, Indonesia, and Brazil
Apple phased out the iPhone 4 a long time ago and several newer version of the smartphone are currently on the market around the world. Typically, once an iPhone leaves production, you don’t see it again. Apple is reportedly making an exception to that rule and is said to be bringing back the iPhone 4.
The tip on the return of the iPhone 4 comes from executives that claim to be familiar with Apple’s plans according to India Times. It’s unclear where these executives are from. The reason these people say the iPhone 4 is coming back is to allow Apple to better compete with Samsung and others in the low-end smartphone market.
The sources claim that the iPhone 4 won’t be coming to all countries. In fact, they say it will be offered in three locations only. The iPhone 4 is tipped to be coming to Brazil, India, and Indonesia. Apple wants to use the iPhone 4 to compete with Samsung’s Grand and S4 mini budget devices.
The phone is reportedly under production by Foxconn in China. The sources say that Apple is targeting a Rs 20,000 price point for the device. Grabbing the low-end market in these countries is important to Apple. Its current devices are seen as to expensive by most people that live in those countries.
